“I was so self conscious of my thinning hair I wouldn’t leave the house without powder on my scalp. This was such an inconvenience for my active lifestyle. I was thrilled with my new hairline results.” Thank you Tonya – G.S
Hairline microblading
Hairline Microblading is a great option for hair that has started to thin. This procedure works best when adding thickness to thinning hair is desired. The microbladed hair strokes will blend in naturally with existing hair strands. This creates the appearance of thicker hair, adds depth, and shadows. It can extend up to two inches from your real hairline.
How long does it last
Hairline Microblading procedure lasts 8-18 months. Permanent make up can be “semi”, and client results will vary. Commonly you will need a touchup at 1-2 years. Generally the results are amazing but it very much depends on your own skin type, texture and oiliness. After care must be taken seriously! There’s a small but very unlikely chance that the ink could be permanent.
How long does it take
Your procedures are broken up into two appointments – the first appointment and then 4 to 6 weeks later, a perfecting session. Duration of procedure depends on the size of area. Typically 1.5 hours is scheduled. A consultation is needed first.
Perfecting session
Tonya will then see you in 4-6 weeks for your perfecting session. The time between appointments gives the skin time to heal and let the color settle. The second appointment will not take as long. Tonya will see how your skin has held the pigment and can make any adjustments to color as needed. But really this appointment is exactly as described- it’s all about the perfecting. Because everyone’s skin heals differently with different results the same amount of time will be scheduled for this session.
Your perfecting session cannot exceed 60 days from your first procedure date or a charge of $150 will be charged.
Healing
Healing usually takes about a week. However, please allow a few days if you have an event or special occasion coming up. She tells her clients not to micro-analyze until 30 days that’s when you will know your completely healed pigment. You will go through several phases during the healing cycle (30 days). The pigment will appear very sharp and dark immediately after the procedure. This is because the pigment is still sitting on top of your skin, and has not yet settled in completely. The color of the pigment will soften gradually, and you may see some pigment on your towel after washing, or on your pillowcase – do not be alarmed. Once the healing of the skin starts taking place, the scalp will look like dandruff flakes or dry skin. This might give you the impression that the color pigment is fading too quickly; however, this is just superficial color and dry skin being naturally removed from your scalp. After a few days, this will subside. Don’t pick or scratch.
Once completely healed after your touchup procedure, it’s highly advise to spray a layer of sunscreen SPF 30 up to SPF 50 on your scalp when exposed to the sun, as sun exposure might cause the color pigment to fade away more quickly.
Does it hurt
In a word, maybe. But not that much. A prescription strength numbing cream is used liberally throughout the procedure and it’s more uncomfortable than painful. Topical anesthetic works great for most people however; in case it doesn’t work great for you it is recommended to take a few TYLENOL, 30 minutes before your procedure.
How long does this last
Everyone’s skin is different so it greatly depends on your skin composition and your healing process. No guarantee can be made that a specific client will benefit the same as another from this procedure. Other factors that play a role in longevity are skin color, the pigment used, thickness of the lines, and mostly how aggressive your immune system is in metabolizing the pigment.
Factors such as smoking, medications, sun exposure, BOTOX, AHA’s (lactic, glycolic, citric, retinoic and tartaric acids) or any OTC creams and lotions for tone correcting, anti-aging, exfoliating, or lightening the skin can cause your hair strokes to fade.
Choosing a color
Tonya uses an exclusive pigment line, which follows the Fitspatrick Skin Type chart. All skin undertones are different, Tonya does not believe in a “one size fits all” system. She works with your skins under tone and hair color to give her clients the best natural results. Tonya will choose the color that is perfect for you.
